I come here every time I'm in Basingstoke. I wish it existed in my home town. The food is absolutely delicious. My personal favourite is the tofu stew with fried rice and fries plantains. The puff puffs are also a super yummy dessert option. I'm vegan and there's a bunch of options on the menu.

Visiting a friend in 'stoke and he recommended this place for a quick bite to eat before a concert. The decor is stripped back but the flavours are not. We both went for the Jollof rice, me with mutton stew, which was wonderfully spicy. We accompanied this with Nigerian Guinness (7.5%, be warned). We grabbed a bag of cinnamon puff puffs to go for dessert which were like donut holes. We left happily full. Hope to return and try some other items from the menu. Service was very friendly too. Recommended.

An excellent place to try out Nigerian/African food, all made on the premises to authentic family recipes. Choose from a nice variety of different dishes - mutton stew, chicken suya (fried spicy chicken) with salad, fish stew, plantain fries.

Honestly fantastic food and service. I had the mixed grill with garlic bread and Fanta. Needed a bit of plantain to deal with the heat but 10/10. Fantastic service from Nuuma and Indi. Kept us fed and brought the good vibes. Couldn’t have asked for more. They also directed us to some lovely nearby memorials.

Brilliant service from Gracie. Lovely atmosphere - really enjoyed the African sounding music in the background and the colourful decoration. Food was full of flavour and served quite quickly. I had the bean stew with plaintain - really tasty. The guys had joloff rice with mutton stew and said it was delicious. Desserts were delicious too. We'll be back!

My girlfriend and I have wanted to try Nigerian food for so long, and decided to pop in to have a snack when in Festival Place! It was really empty in there but the staff were really friendly and helpful. There are a good number of tables despite being quite small and tucked away. We shared a medium portion of jollof rice with the fried plantains which was incredible! We're both not the best with spice, though, so if you're the same then definitely be prepared for a bit of a kick (even though it's labelled as mild on the menu! tells you all you need to know about my spice tolerance). Even then, it was delicious and I'm definitely going to try making it at home! Loved the compostable bowls and cutlery. There seemed to be plenty of vegan and veggie options so we'll definitely be returning to try those, too - especially the famed puff puffs!

Everything was delicious and packed with flavor. We had the combo with 3 stews for 12. The mushroom and tofu stew was so tasty, perfect for vegitarians. My boyfriend and his nephew had the chicken stew and mutton which they loved. The combo was lovely as it allowed us to try multiple things on our first visit. The Sangria Spritiz is very refreshing and perfect for a hot summer day. The Puff Puffs were also a delicious tasty after dinner treat. I highly recommend trying and we will definitley be back.

We do enjoy African food, and coming across this well-regarded cafe/ restaurant was a pleasant surprise. Our two boys loved the food despite initially saying it was too early to eat, plus they also originally wanted something else nearby! However, we were glad to have given Afrizi a try. We ordered Nigerian jollof rice/mutton stew and rice/ beans/chicken stew ‐ warms the soul on a chilly night, and this was definitely a treat today. Milk/fruit shakes are nicely done. The one thing is that we felt that the plantain for the fried plantain and plantain chips could have been riper, which would have made it slightly sweeter than it was. Other than that, the overall meal went down very quickly and without any complaints.
